Antigonish musician Brent MacLean will perform an afternoon of music and comedy at King’s United Church in Loch Katrine, 2 p.m. (doors open at 1:30). He will be joined by Christine MacIsaac and Darren Murphy. A regular performer at the local legion, and founding member of the folk group Jug in Hand, Brent is a generous supporter of music therapy at local nursing homes. Admission is $10 at the door. There will also be a silent auction, bake table and canteen.

The New Glasgow Farmers Market Raise the Barn Sunday Garage Sale will take place at 261 George Street in New Glasgow from noon till 3 p.m. The dome will be full of treasures, home decor, toys, books and more for you to find. Here’s the Scoop will be on location with lunch and the market cafe will be open for coffee and snacks — all while you enjoy live music. Admission is free. The Annual General Meeting of the Gerald Hardy Memorial Society and Rainbow Food Bank will be held upstairs at the Sheet Harbour Royal Canadian Legion from 6 to 7 p.m. We are an adult day program for persons with disabilities. The work of the society in the last year and new initiatives for 2024 will be discussed. Supporters will be thanked for their contributions, new board members will be introduced – and those retiring will be thanked. You are invited to stay informed and get involved. Light refreshments will be served. All are welcome.

The Annual Goods and Services Auction at the Mini-Trail Community Centre in Lakevale, Antigonish County (4382, Route 337) will take place at the centre with doors opening at noon for registration and viewing of items, with the auction set to begin at 1 p.m. Canteen services on site. Free admission and two chances to win your bidding item for free.

The Annual Ratepayers Meeting for the Goshen & Area Volunteer Fire Department will be held at the Goshen Community Centre, 7:30 p.m. The annual financial statements for 2023/2024 and the proposed budget for 2024/2025 will be presented and reviewed. The tax levy for 2024/2025 will also be set.

Immediately following this meeting, the annual meeting of the Goshen Community Centre will be held. All interested residents are invited and encouraged to attend these meetings.
