- What is Proclamation? Proclamation: The Word of the Lord...Is anevent
designed to encourage the reading of the Holy Scriptures so that peoplebecome
more aware of the values and principles of God’s word. It is the readingof
the entire Bible over a 10-day period, 14 hours per day. The goal is to
markin a very significant way the period leading up to Easter and the
resurrectionof Jesus Christ. What better way to do this than to rediscover
the riches ofthe Holy Scriptures. Proclamation will be coming to Antigonish
and Guysboroughin March of 2007. Host Church: St. Paul’s Church, Havre

•The Family Worship Centre invites young and old to attend
aWatoto Concert of Hope at the Chedabucto Place Academy in Guysborough
at 7 pm.The African drums resound and one by one the children with radiant
smiles comedancing down the aisles in their brilliant Ugandan costumes.
Throughout Watoto’s Concert of Hope,you experience the energy and sense
the joy and hope that these beautifulUgandan orphans have found!
Watoto means … “The Children”. Since 1994 Watoto Children’s
Choirs have touredinternationally, accompanied by a team of adults from
Kampala PentecostalChurch. Together they presentWatoto’s vision and mission
through their music and dance, which is a soulfulfusion of contemporary
gospel and traditional African rhythm. Each of the children in the choir
hassuffered the loss of one or both of their parents. However they now
live in Watoto Children’s Village Homes andwith 1500 other children are
being cared for by Watoto. “Concerts of Hope” are a livelydemonstration
of the life-changing love of God experienced by the children.With the co-operation
and encouragement of area churches, business community leaders and the

•New Outreach Program for Rural Women starting inGuysborough.
Outreach for RuralWomen is a service of the Antigonish Women’s Resource
Centre. It is a free and confidential programfor women of all ages and
backgrounds aged 16 and older who are living in andaround Guysborough.
The Outreachworker can provide you with information, advocacy and problem-solving
support.Some of the issues you can talk to the Outreach worker about include:relationships,
physical, mental and emotional health, addictions, poverty,sexual violence,
harassment and abuse, education and employment and the legalsystem. You
